The fascination increases more and more.
The fascination increases more and more.
BMW Motorrad has been organising this event for adventure-thirsty riders every two years since 2008. Beautiful, spectacular landscapes get every biker's heart beating faster. To date, the International GS Trophy has taken participants all the way to Tunisia, South Africa, Patagonia, Canada, Thailand – and now Mongolia. Five teams crossed the starting line in the first GS Trophy. The last one saw 19 teams taking part. What's more, the off-road adventure isn't just about the guys: in 2016, the first-ever women's team joined in. Their unwavering competitive spirit and brilliant riding talent won over the spectators. In Mongolia, even two international teams with female riders took part.
Tough challenges.
Only those who have passed the hard qualifier in advance represented their country in a team and participated in the 2018 International GS Trophy in Mongolia. Demanding challenges awaited the Endurists: they maneuvered the GS over a broken bridge, drove through deep sand, and heaved it over stony river beds and tree trunks. Furthermore, there were navigation exercises with GPS, quiz questions about the GS and technical challenges, such as tire change under time pressure.
Two female teams qualified for Mongolia.
Two female teams qualified for Mongolia.
After four days of competition at the Country Trax Off Road Riding Academy in South Africa not one but two female teams had qualified for the sixth BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy that took place in Mongolia in June 2018. Due to the high standard of riding skills, enthusiasm and team spirit, the BMW Motorrad team had decided in a spontaneous act to ‘double up’ and take six female GS riders to Mongolia.
